I really liked this movie, I had seen this movie before but just as entertainment. In this case I enjoyed to see it again but with a different point of view.
This kind of movie makes me think how complex is the human being and how intelligent can we be, but when we reach the limit you can drive crazy, John was very smart, but his mind change and he started to hallucinate and his life went upside down.
His wife was by his side all that time, and he was able manage those hallucinations, at the end he was recognized by his achievements and he was able to get the Nobel Prize.
As a conclusion of this second semester I had a good time watching the movies, because they were better than the first semester, This time the movies were that kind of movies I really enjoy watching, but there is no time to watch movies at this time of the career.

Citizen consultation about the 15 Proposals of Educación 2020

Educacion 2020 made a citizen consultation to ask about the 15 proposals included in the Immediate Agenda that Eduación 2020 gave in August of this year. Some of these proposals include the creation of an international program for the training of headmasters, a law project on pedagogies and improve the teachers’ status through incentives on teachers who are already excellent and good students who want to study pedagogy. These proposals are very good, some of then need a huge amount of money, and others only need the motivation to improve the Chilean Education.

In my opinion, it is a very good idea to demonstrate that the Chilean Education is not good at this moment and it needs some laws or a movement like this to create conscience. There are some proposals that have been in front of our eyes all the time and we have done nothing. This is the time when we can change this reality, and improve the Chilean Education and give a better education to our children, the education we never had, but we always wanted including now. I agree with the proposals and I think we, as teachers, have the opportunity to improve ourselves and be consider as a important job at the same level as any other career.

English Club

The English club is a web page in Twitter for teachers of English, in which teachers around the world are connected and they can share their experiences and resources. For example I could see some articles, flashcards, and download material for your classes. And the best of all, it is FREE!!!

I liked this page, because there is a link too (http://www.tefl.net/), where there are more things that can be useful to learn and to use in your future lessons. At the beginning, I though it was another unuseful page like others I have seen in the net, but I think I am going to use this page any time. Thank you teacher for giving us this page.

Adolescent pregnancy

Daniela’s presentation was about adolescent pregnancy. She did a very good job. Her presentation was well organized; she asked about the causes of adolescent pregnancy and then she showed us the three main causes: Social cultural factors, lack of information and early initiation of sexual activity.
It was surprising to know the high percentage of adolescent pregnancy in our country in relation with other countries around the world. It also showed that there is a law which protect those girls who are in this situation. Good and useful information to us as future teachers. Article nº 79 from LOCE.
In my opinion, she had a good tone of voice, but she was next to the computer most of the time and when she asked for participation, it was difficult to get an answer.

Subcultures

Pablo’s presentation was about subcultures. His idea was to make a presentation from the beginning, and he talked all the time. The slides were appropriate with good images and he also showed us the music that they listen according to each subcultures. He showed us three subcultures; Goths, Emos and Pokemons.
In my opinion, it was clear that he knew what was talking about, because he did not read any cards. On the other hand, he did not move around the classroom and he was in the corner all the time. It was a good topic with a useful message; Tolerate your students.

Friendship

Teresa’s presentation was about friendship. This topic and presentation is one I liked it the most, because it is a topic we live with all the time and along our entire life. It is something we can not live or leave of feeling it.

Her presentation was beautiful, the PPT had beautiful details and the song was very good. She had good use of space using eye contact all the time and a good tone of voice. It was clear that she was comfortable with the topic.

I really liked her presentation and I found it very useful, because nowadays in the society we lived, it is difficult to find good and loyal friends, and that friendship could last for many years

Music as useful classroom strategy

Francisca’s presentation was about the use of music in the classroom. She started playing a beach boys’ song, while we were doing a semicircle with our chairs. Her presentation was divided in four stages and she explained to us the purpose of the use of music before, during an activity and movement, and after a lesson.

In my opinion she was too flat during her presentation, she did not use the teaching space, but she had good tone of voice and the topic was interesting, but the way she presented to us was boring, maybe if she had used more music or audiovisual aids, I would had paid more attention.
